Join us for a day of creativity, nature and connection!
Embark on a creative journey with our guides, Alice and Jemma, in the enchanting woods of Backwell. This unique workshop seamlessly blends the therapeutic aspects of walking, the joy of drawing, and the tactile excitement of printmaking.
Overview:
Introductions (10.00 - 10.15am) A brief introduction to the day and ourselves.
Guided Walk with Alice and Drawing Skills with Jemma (10.15am - 12.30pm):
Our day begins with a captivating, guided walk led by Alice, founder of The Adventure Girls Club - a nature enthusiast and seasoned guide. As we stroll amidst the picturesque woods near Backwell, Alice will share insights into the local flora and fauna. Jemma will lead observational drawing activities during the walk to help us slow down, properly observe nature, and capture its essence on paper.
Lunch Break (12.30 - 1.00pm): After our invigorating morning adventure, we'll gather for lunch at Jemma's studio. This break provides an opportunity to share experiences, connect with fellow participants, and fuel up for the exciting afternoon of printmaking.
Monoprinting with Jemma (1.00 - 3:30pm): In the studio, Jemma takes the lead in guiding you through the captivating world of monoprinting. A monoprint is a form of printmaking where each impression is unique. Using the materials gathered during our morning walk and the insights gained through drawing, participants will create one-of-a-kind prints that reflect the beauty and essence of nature.
Reflection (3.30 - 4.00pm)
After tidying up we will gather our prints and reflect on the day.
What is a Monoprint?
A monoprint is a printmaking process that yields a single, unique impression. It combines elements of painting and printmaking, allowing for spontaneity and creativity. Each print is a standalone piece of art, making the process both thrilling and unpredictable.

Alice Keegan - Hike Leader
Alice is a qualified mountain leader and CEO of The Adventure Girls Club. She's passionate about reconnecting women back nature through adventure and outdoor skills. Alice set up the club back in 2022 because she didn't feel like she belonged in the outdoor community and wanted to create a safe space for women to head out and enjoy the outdoors in their own way. She loves meeting all the lush people who come along to the events and enjoys seeing everyone come away feeling more connected to nature and making connections with other like-minded women too.
