Hi, I’m Alice Keegan
Hiking enthusiast, wild swimmer, adventure-seeker, nature geek and proud introvert. I’m dedicated to empowering women with the knowledge and confidence to find the freedom of adventure.
8 years ago I was living in London and working a stressful job in the music industry, my mental health was the lowest it’s ever been. I was exhausted, drinking a lot and suffering badly from anxiety and depression.
Then I made a decision that would change my life forever - I took myself on a solo camping and hiking adventure in the Lake District. I’d never felt more alive, from that moment I knew in my heart, my life's purpose was rooted in nature and leading other women to find their confidence and freedom through adventure and nature too.
Since then I have been on some incredible adventures across the world in places like Peru, Nepal and Morocco. I have created a life where getting out into nature is priority; I hike at least once a week, wild swim 2-3 times a week and take myself off on monthly solo adventures. My mental health is the best it’s ever been, I’m a nicer person to be around and a much more confident person in everyday life.
Now I want to pass on everything I’ve learnt over the past 8 years to help you find this freedom in adventure. I want to guide you to a place where you can confidently and passionately head out into nature and fill your soul with all its rich beauty. Where fear is something you welcome rather than run from and where life becomes an endless flow of possibilities and experiences.
Since doing these hikes, I’ve definitely prioritised regular time in nature during my working week. Just fitting in a few regular walks gives me that nature fix and allows me to stomp away any stress. I feel lighter in my heart, fitter in my body and more in tune with the world. It’s becoming an integral part of maintaining my wellbeing.
My first ever hike was with Alice. I was so excited to feel like a real ‘hiker’, without the anxiety of having to work out where I would walk, or what route I could take or even be capable of doing. I felt totally at ease with Alice leading us as I know she has so much experience that that nervous feeling I’ve had before of “where should I go?”and “am I allowed to walk through this field” totally dissolved and I could just enjoy the magic of being outside and having a lovely time.
Now that I know I CAN do these things I feel so free, and now I'm actually excited to go to new places rather than stressing about the travel. Thankyou so much for organising this, the future hikes to come, and all the work you do! It's been a massive confidence booster and now I feel like I can do anything.
