How we grade our walks
A complete guide to what each grade means, so you can feel confident about what you're signing up for.
Level: Complete beginner

Perfect for…
people who have little to no experience walking in the outdoors.Â
Everyone is welcome but it is important that we all go at the same pace so be prepared to walk much slower than usual.Â

Gravel tracks, woodland trails, muddy footpaths, fields. (please check specific hikes for more info)
Pace
Very slow pace. No one gets left behind. We stay as a group and have plenty of stops.Â
Kit needed
On your feet - can be done in any footwear you don't mind getting muddy.Â
What to bring - water, personal medication, snacks and a spare layer/waterproof (weather dependent). Can be carried in anything you have available if you don’t own a backpack.Â

Less than 100mÂ
Mostly flat or a few short hills
Level: Beginner

Perfect for…
people who have been on very short walks before (dog walks, family walks, complete beginner walks with the club) but want to try walking a little further. Â

Perfect for…
people who have experience with half day walks but want to try a longer day hike.Â
Everyone is welcome but there will be a wider variety of experiences and paces so the group may spread out a little more. However, we will still keep a fairly slow pace with plenty of stops.Â

people who have experience with full day walks but want to try something a little more challenging
Everyone is welcome but there will be a wider variety of experiences and paces so the group may spread out a little more. However, we will still keep a fairly slow pace with plenty of stops.Â

Perfect for…
people who have experience with long day hikes and want to be out hiking all day. These will most likely be mountain days where terrain is trickier and there is lots of hill climbing.Â
Everyone is welcome but there will be a wider variety of experiences and paces so the group may spread out a little more. However, we will still keep a medium pace with plenty of stops.Â
