✨The Adventure Girls Club 2024 Updates ✨

As the year is coming to an end, and we’re coming up to our 2 year anniversary, I’ve taken some time recently to reflect on all the amazing things we’ve achieved as a community and how I feel we should be moving forward for 2024 and onwards. 

I originally came up with the idea for The Adventure Girls Club whilst out on a solo wild camp in Dartmoor National Park in August 2021. I was feeling incredibly proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and so grateful for the beauty of the world. It was such an intense feeling and I wanted other women to feel this too. I had already received so many messages from women asking for tips and advice when it came to getting outdoors so I decided then and there to build a community that helped more women get out and on adventures. 

Fast forward to March 2022 and after months of hard work I was ready to launch The Adventure Girls Club to my founding members. A lot of you are still with us now and I want to thank you all for helping me build the club into what it is now - I couldn’t have done it without you! 

Since I’ve launched the club we have had 88 day hikes, 29 wild swims, 6 weekend trips, 3 international trips, 9 navigation courses, 6 ambassadors and hundreds of amazing women who have attended these events. I want to thank every single one of you for coming and making this community what it is. I’m always blown away by the kindness, intelligence, strength and courage you all have and it’s a privilege to witness. 

When I set up the community I had no idea how quickly it would take off and become so popular and, to be very honest with you all, there have been times when I have struggled with the sheer amount of work that needed to be done with only me to do it. There have been many tears of frustration at just how few hours there are in the day to get everything done! I now have some amazing qualified ambassadors who are helping me take The Adventure Girls Club to other parts of the UK and I only hope to expand further next year. 

It’s been a real rollercoaster of a journey since I launched the club and I have learnt SO MUCH. About running a business, about myself, about being a leader and about how important getting outside really is. So for 2024 I have implemented some changes to the club from everything I have learnt. I hope you are as excited as I am for these changes and how the community will grow in years to come. 

So, what’s next? 

My main goal is to get more of you out into nature, it’s as simple as that. I want to make going out on adventures a regular part of your life and make it easier to fit into your busy lifestyles. 

This means more day hikes with more of them accessible by public transport. More beginner-friendly hikes, more skills courses, nature-based courses and more online resources. 

I’m determined to get as many women outdoors as possible and I want you to be a key part of it and help me shape the future of The Adventure Girls Club. 

The plan 

• From the 1st January 2024, the prices for day hikes will be £10 for members and £35 for non-members 
• I’m so excited to be sharing more route cards and more on-demand resources that will support you to get out and about on your own - whether that’s in your local park, or on a bigger hike 
• Weekly newsletters & blogs will continue and will be packed full of information…
• Thank you so much to those of you who have helped me develop the navigation courses, now that I’m fully qualified I can confirm they’re going to be a permanent fixture on our schedule of events. They will be £35 for members and £65 for non-members. 
• Weekend trips will continue! And I can’t wait to announce them, watch this space.
• You guys are loving the book club, so that’s here to stay.
• You’re also loving the Bushcraft and Survival Skills overnight trips so they will return in the summer. 
• Mini-retreat days are still as popular as ever and will be continuing next year with the possibility of a weekend retreat on the cards…
• More online talks with other inspirational women. 
• Brand new: Navigation and Solo Hiking Skills weekenders for different levels. 
• Brand new: Wild camping skills and expedition trips in the UK.
• Brand new: Creative nature workshops with local artists
• Brand new: nature ID & foraging walks
• International trips: the trips we have planned in 2024 will be the last that The Adventure Girls Club will host, so this is a great opportunity to book yourself a once in a lifetime trip.
