Weekly Blog: Welcoming new members, local walks and early signs of spring

Jan 22, 2024

It's an exciting week in the membership, we're opening our doors to new members for one week only and I'm so excited to welcome everyone in 🥰

This time of year is the hardest time to get outside - it's cold, it's muddy, it's dark and we're all feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by all the goals we've set ourselves. It's why joining a group hike is the best thing you can do for yourself. It holds you accountable and chatting to other women really makes you realise you are not alone in your struggles. Even as leader and organiser of the club I get SO much out of speaking to all our members. Connecting to others whilst connecting to nature really is a tonic for the soul.

Alice's Diary

I've been spending a lot of the week indoors as I had this dreading cold/cough that's been going around. I really had to force myself to stay in as the weather was so sunny and crisp and cold - my favourite type of weather! But I'm trying to learn how to listen to my body and rest it when it needs it 😅

I did manage to get out at the beginning of the week and I found some Snowdrops, this is very exciting for me as it marks the start of Spring and things starting to regrow. It symbolises much needed hope 💕

I also managed to get up my local hill for sunset and it was SO beautiful. It's the kind of micro-adventure which doesn't take much energy but gives a lot of beauty and awe.

On Saturday I guided a lovely group of women around my favourite local walk from my hometown of Frome along Vallis Vale to Mells. We had such a lovely day, it was SO nice to chat to everyone and we have a great bunch of new members who have joined since coming on the walk.
