"Thank you again for organising such a wonderful weekend [...] I really love how you've created a space that embraces all types of women, no matter their backgrounds, age or fitness levels. It really shows through the snippets of chats I had with many of the ladies over the weekend, how each one of us was searching for something like TAGC and in finding it, we are thrilled to be surrounded by such strong resilient women encouraging us to be our best selves!"

Itinerary

Friday 18th April

Welcome and settle in

Arrive at our exclusively booked independent hostel any time from 6pm onwards.

The first evening is just about settling in, meeting the other women and getting into 'switching off' mode for the weekend.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are available on arrival but no dinner is provided on the Friday evening. You can either head to a pub nearby (we will recommend a few) or make use of the shared kitchen to make your own food.

Saturday 19th April

7.30am - Breakfast and make packed lunch. We will start the day with a nutritious home-cooked breakfast. We offer a continental spread of toast, fruit, yoghurt and our famous overnight oats. As well as a cooked veggie breakfast of veggie sausages, hash browns, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and beans.

After breakfast we lay out bread, wraps and fillings to make your own sandwich or wrap. You'll also get crisps, chocolate bars and fruit to take with you too.

There is vegan and gluten-free options for everything. Any other dietary requirements can be catered for.

9am - Leave for day hike - Ingleborough. We will have 2 qualified Mountain Leaders to lead us on a challenging hike up to Ingleborough - one of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. We will start this hike straight from the hostel.

Hike stats: →13km ↑512m

We like to take it nice and slow on our TAGC hikes so no one is left behind. There is the option to split into 2 groups if the paces dictate so.

4pm - Rough time back at the hostel. Time for cream teas! Help yourself to scones, cream and jam (and some vegan cake options!), shower and relax.

7pm - Dinner. Sit down to a filling and nutritious dinner at the hostel. We usually cook a vegan + gluten free chilli or curry with sides and extras to re-fuel you after a tiring day out on the hills.

Dietary requirements can be catered for.

Evening. Chat, play games or find a quiet corner to read your book.

She wanted to create a softer anti-dote to the extreme, goal orientated ego-centric attitude to the outdoors. Alice is also a qualified mountain leader and loves sharing her love for the mountains with women who lack the confidence to go themselves.

Travel and Transport

Travel is not included, here is some more information on how to get there.

By Car

You can park at Broadrake bunkbarn, however the car park is small and there are limited spaces so please lift share where possible reduce any pressure on the hostel and national park.

By train/bus

You can get the train to Ribblehead and either walk for 50 minutes along a picturesque track to the hostel or ask someone to come and collect you. You could also book a taxi to the hostel if you can't find anyone to collect you, but we're a friendly bunch and I'm sure someone will!

Liftshare

It would be great to lift-share as much as possible, I will create a WhatsApp group where people can offer or request a lift.
