"Highly recommend TAGC! I was nervous joining for the first time on my own but there was absolutely no need as Alice warmly welcomes you from the start and most of the walks Iāve joined have fellow solo hikers which means everyone is so friendly that you fall into step with someone new to chat to every time! I love the fact that Alice really does set a slow steady pace with lots of breather breaks meaning my worries about being unfit/slower than everyone else was eased from the beginning. Itās definitely all about enjoying nature and the outdoors with like minded people!! The groups are always a great mix of ages so itās very inclusive for all and Iāve also realised itās a great way to explore new places in the UK which means every view/forest walk leaves me longing for the next hike I can manage to book into! I especially love the weekend away hikes-double dose of hiking, swimming and exploring with fun evening times spent together with the group chatting and playing games or enjoying solo quiet reading time too. Alice is an incredible cook and the breakfasts/dinners on these weekends are just delish! We all look forward to our cream tea at the end of the first day hiking!"

Now that I know I CAN do these things I feel so free, and now I'm actually excited to go to new places rather than stressing about the travel. Thankyou so much for organising this, the future hikes to come, and all the work you do! It's been a massive confidence booster and now I feel like I can do anything.

Hi, Iām Alice Keegan
Ā
Qualified Mountain Leader, wild swimmer, adventure-seeker, nature geek and proud introvert. Iām dedicated to creating a safe and supportive community of women and non-binary people to get outside more and find the freedom of adventure.Ā
10 years ago I was living in London and working a stressful job in the music industry, my mental health was the lowest itās ever been. I was exhausted, drinking a lot and suffering badly from anxiety and depression.Ā
Then I made a decision that would change my life forever - I took myself on a solo camping and hiking adventure in the Lake District.Ā Iād never felt more alive,Ā and from that moment decided to prioritise time for adventure in my life and share this joy with others.Ā
Since then I have been on some incredible adventures across the world in places like Peru, Nepal and Morocco. I have now created a life where getting out into nature is priority. My mental health is the best itās ever been, Iām a nicer person to be around and a much more confident person in everyday life.Ā
Now my focus is on creating a community of like-minded women and non-binary people who want toĀ prioritise time outdoors too. As someone who is naturally shy, chatting to people while hiking is the best way toĀ make connections and most of the girls who come on the hikes have made friends for life this way. I love meeting new people on my hikes and can't wait to meet more!Ā
